Recognition of individual achievements
Individual achievements, for example in teaching, writing proposals or publications, should be adequately recognised. Performance evaluation should not be limited to merely counting the number of publications or comparing index factors. Performance evaluation should primarily be based on qualitative standards.
There are various ways to make achievements visible and reward them, for example:
- Prizes can be offered for exceptional accomplishments, e.g. a certain amount of money for an outstanding doctorate, thereby paving the way for the postdoc phase by way of start-up funding and helping the recipient to gain visibility.
- For researchers working within a research network who do not yet have their own publications, it is helpful if their results can be made visible to the outside world at an early stage on the project website.
