EU Whistleblower Directive

Directive (EU)(externer Link) 2019/1937 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 October 2019 on the protection of persons who report infringements of Union law was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 26 November 2019, the so-called EU Whistleblower Directive. In the Whistleblower Directive, the EU has established Europe-wide standards for the protection of complainants. In future, whistleblowers will be better protected throughout the EU.

ENRIO Handbook on Whistleblower Protection in Research

The European Network of Research Integrity Officers (ENRIO) has published a handbook(externer Link) with recommendations on how to protect whistleblowers in research. The handbook is aimed at research institutions wishing to set up a whistleblowing system, at researchers considering reporting a suspicion of scientific misconduct, and at the interested public.
