About this portal
The “Research Integrity” portal brings together information and explanations provided by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) on good research practice, the handling of scientific misconduct and other issues relating to research integrity within the DFG’s sphere of responsibility.
As a research funding organisation, the DFG sets requirements that are relevant to the receipt of funding and participation in its programmes. These include in particular the (interner Link) – implementation of which is a mandatory prerequisite for funding of research institutions – and the (interner Link). This portal presents both sets of rules, including the accompanying commentary.
As the self-governing organisation of the German research community, the DFG is committed to helping shape the framework conditions and standards governing research practice. With this in mind, the commentary and discipline-specific clarification of the Code of Conduct are continuously developed in cooperation with the research communities. For more information, see (interner Link).
The portal also provides an overview of other DFG regulations designed to safeguard integrity, including the rules on conflicts of interest for individuals involved in funding programmes and the rules governing incompatibilities of office in the area of scientific policy advisory work.
